Health Careers Pathway

La Puente High School’s Health Careers Pathways program is designed to provide students interested in entering the health care field with various opportunities throughout their high school career.  Students learn about the medical field through a variety of courses such as First Responder, Biology, Medical-core and more. These courses not only provide students with valuable information but also provide hands-on experience to maximize and deepen their understanding of the medical field. State and national HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) membership is another component of the program. The mission of HOSA is to promote health care opportunities and enhance the quality of health care while building leadership skills that will enhance students’ ability to serve their community. The Pathways courses and HOSA participation combined promote student application of information and skills learned by providing community service and community education related to the health care industry.
